As a mom of two multicultural kids, I’ve always cherished the holidays, especially the joy of bringing different traditions to life in our home. We celebrate Christmas with matching pajamas, festive decor, and cozy family moments. One day, while preparing for Diwali, my then 4-year-old daughter asked, "Mommy, can we have Diwali pajamas, too?" Her innocent request struck a chord with me.
I realized there was a gap in the market for culturally inspired products that celebrate our heritage in the same way mainstream holidays are embraced. In many South Asian families, Diwali is more than just a festival—it's a time for family, joy, and traditions that bring warmth and light into our homes. Yet, there were few products available that allowed us to celebrate Diwali with the same enthusiasm and togetherness that we do during Christmas.
This sparked the idea for My Desi Fusion. I wanted to create something that would let families like ours embrace and elevate their cultural traditions. Diwali pajamas became our first collection, allowing families to celebrate with matching outfits that reflect the beauty and spirit of this cherished festival. It’s about more than just clothing; it’s about creating lasting memories and a sense of belonging for multicultural families.
My Desi Fusion is my way of blending our rich South Asian culture with modern family life, making it easier for all of us to celebrate who we are, one pajama set at a time.
